Saving Grace Programs

Vitamin Distributions

Saving Grace battles malnutrition in every way and on every level we can. When an impoverished child has no access to healthy food, their bodies are at risk even before birth. Saving Grace strives to stand in the gap, and helps precious children survive malnutrition. We believe with every problem we turn to the root cause. For malnourished children, it’s being born in poverty. So, we begin in the womb by providing prenatal vitamins to nursing and expectant mothers as early as possible. Because of our wonderful partners, we can provide prenatal vitamins to an impoverished mother all through her pregnancy and
while she nurses her child to their first healthy birthday. These vitamins help the mother receive what she needs and through her milk provides the lifesaving nutrients to her child. This team had the blessing of distributing prenatal vitamins to many grateful mothers. Our nutritional programs tackle the parasites who enter a child’s body usually from contaminated water, food, soil and animals. The parasites take and feed from the little nutrition an impoverished child receives and causes havoc on their vulnerable bodies. The next step is to tackle deficiencies that affect the internal organs of a child that
struggles with poor nutrition. Vitamin A is essential in the growth and health of an impoverished child and our team delivers liquid Vitamin A to prevent blindness, protect internal organs and build a child’s immune system.
This program is an ongoing opportunity as these life-saving nutrients are needed every six months, so we return to each area twice a year. There are answers to the struggle of malnutrition for precious children and Saving Grace continually moves forward and we ask that you join us. Together, we can make a difference for every precious child we can reach. We welcome your church team to journey with us and receive the blessings of distributing to precious children. If you would like to join our team and stand in the gap with us to fight malnutrition, please consider contributing to our nutrition program with a
one-time donation or a monthly sponsorship. Saving Grace is blessed to serve with you!

Saving Water Program

Clean water is a challenge for so many Hondurans. Many times, the burden falls on the children. Precious children must carry water for their families. In most cases it is a long distance to carry the water and may take them most of the day to help get all the water they need for a couple of days. This can leave no time for school or play. Saving Grace puts children back in school by building families a concrete water storage system called a pila.  This can free a child’s burden and provide an opportunity for education to escape the chains of poverty.  The pila pictured is one a team built for a highly impoverished family. This one also has a space for the household to take a shower.

We will build homes like this one. With a firm foundation and sturdy, protective home.

Building Safe Homes

The reality is that most families in Honduras that live outside the main cities and villages, do not live in structurally sound housing. Most families have homes that are constructed out of sticks, mud and stones. They experience rainy season each year from July-November. Many houses are washed away or need major repairs during this time. We have the ability to construct blocks that provide a much safer and sturdier house for these impoverished people. We send teams down to help build these houses. For more information on how you can bring a team down to build a house, please contact Liz Faust at: liz@savinggraceintl.com

Sustainable Food Sources

Saving Grace believes in ending malnutrition with sustainability programs. These programs can renew themselves to continually supply healthy food options for impoverished families. Teams can build families hen houses, pig pens and help with other agricultural opportunities such as gardens and planting different kinds of trees.
